This Privacy Policy explains how Johnathan Oriental Corp. (“JOC”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, retains and protects personal information in connection with websites, applications, digital services, memberships, programs, events and other services where this Privacy Policy is posted or incorporated by reference (collectively, the “Services”).
JOC is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Unless another entity or independent provider is expressly identified as responsible for a particular processing activity, Johnathan Oriental Corp. is responsible for the personal information described in this Policy.
1. Our Privacy Approach
JOC seeks to collect, use and retain personal information only for identified purposes reasonably connected with its Services, legal obligations, security and legitimate operations.
JOC does not treat acceptance of its Terms of Use as blanket consent to unrelated uses of personal information.
Where consent is required, JOC seeks to provide information appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the reasonably foreseeable consequences of the processing.
JOC seeks to minimize unnecessary collection and does not retain identifiable personal information merely because it might become useful in the future.
2. Who This Policy Applies To
This Policy applies to personal information JOC processes in connection with the Services.
General JOC accounts and Services are intended for persons aged 18 or older unless a particular Service expressly provides otherwise under separate terms and appropriate safeguards.
This Policy does not automatically govern the independent activities of third-party professionals, organizations, platforms or service providers merely because JOC provides a link, introduction, integration or coordination function.
3. Personal Information We May Collect
The personal information JOC collects depends on the Service you use and how you interact with it.
3.1 Contact and Identity Information
This may include name, email address, telephone number where provided, organization or role, country or region, preferred language, and other information provided when contacting, applying to or registering with JOC.
3.2 Account and Access Information
This may include account identifiers, authentication and security information, membership or entitlement information, preferences, settings and access-request records.
3.3 Application, Membership and Program Information
Where you apply for or participate in a JOC membership, Forum, SCCP pathway, event or other program, JOC may collect information reasonably necessary to evaluate, administer or support that participation.
3.4 Communications and Support
JOC may process messages, inquiries, support requests, feedback and other communications you send to JOC.
3.5 Transaction Information
Where you purchase a product or paid Service, JOC may process transaction-related information reasonably required for the transaction, accounting, tax, fraud prevention or support.
Payment processing may be performed by specialized payment providers. JOC does not intentionally store complete payment-card numbers or card verification codes where payment processing can reasonably be performed by such a provider.
3.6 AI Interaction Information
When you use an AI-enabled Service, information processed may include prompts, conversations, instructions, uploaded files, documents, images, connected-source content, feedback and generated Outputs.
3.7 Technical and Usage Information
Depending on the Service and technologies actually deployed, JOC may process IP address, browser and device information, operating system, language settings, authentication and session information, timestamps, pages or features accessed, referral or campaign information, security and diagnostic logs, error and performance information, and cookie or similar identifiers where applicable.
3.8 Information from Other Sources
JOC may receive personal information from another source where you authorize the connection or disclosure, another person lawfully provides it, it is publicly available in circumstances permitting its use, or applicable law otherwise permits JOC to obtain it.
4. Private User Content
“Private User Content” means non-public content that a user submits to, uploads to, provides through, or authorizes JOC to access through a Service, including private prompts, conversations, instructions, documents, files, images and other non-public materials.
Private User Content does not include information intentionally made public through the relevant Service, or information JOC lawfully obtains independently without relying on the user's private submission.
JOC does not use Private User Content to train general-purpose AI models.
5. Why We Process Personal Information
5.1 Providing the Services
JOC may process information reasonably necessary to create and administer accounts, authenticate users, provide requested functionality, process applications or memberships, provide AI-enabled functionality, process transactions, administer events, provide requested introductions or coordination, maintain preferences and provide support.
5.2 Security, Fraud Prevention and Reliability
JOC may process limited information reasonably necessary to protect accounts and Services, detect or investigate fraud and abuse, diagnose failures, maintain reliability, investigate incidents and enforce applicable terms.
5.3 Evaluation and Improvement
JOC may use limited operational, diagnostic, feedback and appropriately de-identified or aggregated information to evaluate and improve the reliability, safety, usability and performance of the Services.
Where reasonably practicable, JOC uses de-identified, aggregated, synthetic or purpose-specific test information for secondary evaluation rather than identifiable Private User Content.
Evaluation and improvement do not authorize unrestricted reuse of Private User Content and do not change JOC's commitment not to use Private User Content to train general-purpose AI models.
5.4 Communications
JOC may use contact information for transactional, account, security, service or administrative communications and, where permitted by law, relevant JOC marketing communications subject to applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements.
5.5 Legal and Compliance Purposes
JOC may process information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, lawful legal process, legal rights, required records, prevention of unlawful activity or lawful regulatory requirements.
6. Consent and Other Legal Bases
The legal basis for processing depends on the jurisdiction, Service, information and purpose involved.
Where Canadian privacy law requires consent, JOC seeks consent that is meaningful in light of the nature, purpose and consequences of the processing.
Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
Acceptance of the Terms of Use does not, by itself, constitute consent to an unrelated secondary use of personal information where separate consent is required.
7. Artificial Intelligence and Model Training
JOC does not use Private User Content to train general-purpose AI models.
Ordinary use of a JOC AI Service does not constitute agreement to participate in a future program that uses Private User Content to train general-purpose AI models.
If JOC introduces a materially different program involving such use, JOC will provide separate information and obtain an affirmative choice where appropriate or required by applicable law.
Where third-party AI providers process Private User Content on JOC's behalf, JOC uses contractual, technical or service-level controls appropriate to the processing, including controls concerning provider-side model training where applicable.
8. AI Inferences and Automated Processing
AI Services may generate classifications, summaries, analyses, recommendations, inferences or other Outputs. Such Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete or probabilistic and should not automatically be treated as verified facts about an individual.
JOC does not use AI Outputs as the sole basis for decisions made by JOC that determine an individual's legal rights or similarly significant interests.
9. Sensitive Information
General-purpose JOC Services are not designed as unrestricted repositories for highly sensitive or specially regulated personal information.
Where JOC intentionally provides a Service requiring sensitive information, JOC may apply additional safeguards, notices, permissions, access restrictions or retention controls.
10. Disclosure of Personal Information
JOC may disclose personal information only for identified purposes, with appropriate authority, or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.
Recipients may include service providers and processors; independent professionals or providers where requested or authorized; recipients required for legal, security or protection purposes; and parties involved in bona fide corporate transactions subject to appropriate requirements.
11. Sale, Targeted Advertising and Commercial Use
JOC does not use Private User Content for targeted advertising.
JOC corporate Services do not currently use cross-site behavioural advertising technologies for targeted advertising.
JOC does not disclose personal information to third parties in exchange for monetary payment as a business model.
Where applicable law defines “sale”, “sharing” or “targeted advertising” more broadly, JOC will provide notices or choices required for the processing actually conducted.
12. International and Cross-Border Processing
JOC is based in Canada, but personal information may be processed, stored or accessed in Canada and other countries where JOC or its service providers operate.
Information processed outside your province, territory or country may be subject to laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed, including lawful access requirements.
JOC does not represent that all personal information remains exclusively in Canada unless a particular Service expressly provides such a commitment.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, JOC uses contractual, organizational, technical or other transfer mechanisms appropriate to the circumstances.
13. Retention
JOC retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the identified purpose, applicable legal or accounting obligations, security, dispute management or another lawful purpose.
JOC maintains retention and disposal practices appropriate to material categories of personal information.
When identifiable personal information is no longer required, JOC seeks to delete, securely dispose of or appropriately de-identify it, subject to applicable technical, legal and backup-cycle limitations.
14. Security
JOC uses administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature and sensitivity of personal information and the risks reasonably associated with its processing.
No electronic system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. JOC therefore does not promise absolute security.
15. Privacy Incidents
JOC maintains procedures for assessing and responding to suspected privacy and security incidents. Where an incident triggers notification, reporting, record-keeping or other obligations under applicable law, JOC will take the steps required by that law.
16. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, restriction or objection, information about processing or disclosures, portability where applicable, and to make a privacy complaint.
Not every right applies in every jurisdiction or circumstance. Requests may be subject to lawful exceptions, identity verification, preservation obligations or security considerations.
17. Access and Correction
Where applicable, you may request access to personal information JOC holds about you and correction of inaccurate or incomplete information. JOC may need to verify your identity before disclosure or modification.
18. Deletion Requests
You may request deletion of eligible personal information. Deletion is not absolute, and JOC may retain information where reasonably necessary or permitted for legal obligations, accounting, fraud prevention, security, disputes or legal claims.
19. Identity Verification and Authorized Requests
JOC may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of a person making a privacy request. Verification will be proportionate to the nature and sensitivity of the request.
20. Marketing Communications
You may unsubscribe from eligible marketing communications using the mechanism provided in the communication or by contacting JOC. Unsubscribing from marketing does not necessarily stop transactional, security, account or other non-marketing communications.
21. Cookies and Similar Technologies
JOC may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies for security, authentication, preferences, service operation and appropriately configured analytics.
JOC's current corporate Services do not use cross-site behavioural advertising technologies for targeted advertising.
Where applicable law requires consent before a non-essential technology is used, JOC will seek that consent before activating it.
22. Campaign and Referral Information
JOC may use first-party or URL-based source, referral and campaign information for attribution, aggregate measurement, security, operational analysis and evaluation of JOC communications.
JOC does not treat its own campaign or referral identifiers as authorization to create cross-site behavioural advertising profiles.
23. External Links, Integrations and Connected Sources
The Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. If you authorize a connection, that third party may process information under its own terms and privacy practices.
Where a connected source allows JOC to access information on your behalf, JOC seeks to limit access to permissions and information reasonably necessary for the requested functionality.
24. Children
General JOC accounts and Services are intended for persons aged 18 or older.
If JOC introduces a Service specifically intended for younger users, JOC may provide separate eligibility rules, notices, consent mechanisms and safeguards.
25. Privacy Choices
JOC may provide a Privacy Choices interface for applicable requests concerning access, correction, deletion, consent, AI data and cookie preferences. You may also contact the JOC Privacy Officer directly.
26. Changes to This Privacy Policy
JOC may update this Policy as its Services, technology, providers, business practices or legal obligations evolve.
Where a change materially alters processing, JOC will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law.
